How to Reconnect to Wholeness
It seems like everyone is going through something life-altering these days.
What do we do in a world where threats of war, terror and violence seem more prevalent than they have in years? How do we live mindfully in a time where it’s easier than ever to numb out and close our hearts?
This is an invitation to sift through what’s important, what’s valuable… and in the hard moments… to find inspiration.
Let us take a moment to honor that there are others who wake up with a desire to find meaning in this world… this day… this moment.
Many people walk through life avoiding the lows, acquiring new shiny things and experiences that will make us happy for a short while.
But what if happiness isn’t about “acquiring” anything?
What if real happiness is found by realizing what we’ve had all along?
We have an altar within each of us, capable of exalting love, or destruction.
We have a choice.
To live mindfully, in pursuit of growth and greater understanding.
To contemplate virtue, and to hold our bodies, minds and souls as sacred.
We have the opportunity to realize our wholeness.
To uplift and inspire.
To be in the eye of the storm amidst the rage of the tempest.
Though we can’t change the state of the world, we can change the state of the self…
We can find places to slow down, and rest for a while.
So we can enjoy the little things again.
So where do we begin?
We tend to the Inner Altar.
With gentle movement, not as a performance but as a ritual.
With moments of stillness, to listen to the call of the higher voice.
Through observing the motions of the mind, not to fix or change, but to witness.
Through carrying out daily tasks with presence, so our life becomes a prayer.
In this, I strive, alongside you, toward these higher ideals.
When we fall short, may we not linger on regret, guilt or shame.
May our point of sail return toward the truth.
Towards love,
Towards growth,
Toward embodiment…
May we endeavor to experience the great mystery in its fullest expression.
Will you join me?
